Alex Guarnaschelli

Guarnaschelli, Maria Guarnaschelli's child, works as a cookbook editor. She completed her studies at Barnard College in 1991 with an art history degree. In 1991 she worked for minimum wage in a restaurant called the American Place for one year. Guarnaschelli began her culinary journey through watching her mom cook and edit cookbooks. Guarnaschelli first learned to cook under Larry Forgione, whose son Marc Forgione is Iron Chef Marc Forgione. She then worked at numerous restaurants in France, New York, and Los Angeles including Guy Savoy's La Butte Chaillot. Before taking over Butter as their chef-in-charge, she worked for Daniel Boulud at his eponymous restaurant. Prior to its closing, she served as executive chef of The Darby. She is chair of the Museum of Food and Drink's Culinary Council. Guarnaschelli launched her first cookbook in the year 2013. "Old-School Comfort Food": The Way I Learned to cook" incorporates autobiographical elements with some of her favorite dishes from her professional life that she made for the house. Alex Alex Alex
